SP Olabode Babade Aroge, The Head Of RRS Operations Department Retires Today


Superintendent of Police (SP) Olabode Babade Aroge (Rtd) was born on March 2, 1957 at Ijero L.G.A, Ijero-Ekiti in Ondo State, now Ekiti State. He attended St. Michaels Catholic School, Osi-Ekiti, Ekiti State, where he obtained First Leaving School Certificate in 1971. He furthered his education at Messiah Anglican Secondary Modern School, Ijero-Ekiti, and came out in flying colours in 1976. He attended Pre-GCE and GCE Lessons at the Nigeria Army Children School, Obalende, Lagos, between 1977 and 1980 where he sat for and passed GCE O’ Level with eight (8) credits.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on the August 1, 1981, and was trained at Police College Ikeja, Lagos, as a recruit constable. After which he was first posted to ‘F’ Department Force Headquarters, now Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, in December 1981.

Happy retirement life sir, I am glad you retired successfully and at the same time sad because I am missing a lot about you, I am missing your fatherly advice, I am missing such an officer with listening ears, I am missing an officer who discipline with love whenever the junior ranks err, I am missing your humility, I am missing your sense of humor, You are such a leader who believes in producing more leaders and not more followership, you played a very vital role in my life which I can not forget in a hurry, and when the history of my life is to written, your name will definitely occupy a space, though I have no opportunity of working with you directly, but from a far distance, but I enjoyed a lot about you, May the Lord bless you, let me end up with the saying of Chief Obafemi Awolowo which says and I quote '' If we are related, we shall meet again '' I love you sir.
